The aim of the project is to investigate the origins of and processes responsible for isotope variations of the light elements and noble gases in the Solar System through an experimental approach involving ionization of gaseous species.
We shall develop a new experiment of plasma ionization of gas mixtures in a low pressure cavity. We shall also ionize gas mixtures with synchrotron photons at the Soleil Facility. fractionation during trapping in ice under ionizing conditions will also be investigated.
This program is a collaboration between CRPG Nancy (CNRS and Université de Lorraine), the Université Pierre et Marie Curie, the National Museum of Natural History, the Synchrotron Soleil and the LATMOS laboratory, Université St Quentin en Yvelines.
